Knowing how many doses remain sounds like something you could estimate by looking at the vial. You cannot, reliably, and the estimate is always optimistic. The number is easy to calculate and worth calculating, because it is the input to every supply decision you make.

Start from concentration. Doses remaining is the volume left in the vial divided by the volume of one dose. Volume of one dose is dose in milligrams divided by concentration in milligrams per millilitre. If you know your concentration, both steps are one division each.

The complication is that the answer is not usually a whole number, and the leftover is not usable in the way people assume. A vial with 0.7 of a dose left is a vial with zero usable doses at your current schedule unless you are prepared to combine it with a fresh one, which brings its own bookkeeping problems.

Dead space is the other quiet subtraction. Every draw leaves a little behind in the needle hub, and over ten or twelve draws that adds up to a measurable fraction of a vial. It is not worth chasing, but it is worth knowing about when your count says you have exactly enough and reality says otherwise.

Because the arithmetic changes every time the dose changes, I keep it in a peptide dose calculator rather than recomputing by hand. The value of having it stored is that the remaining count updates when the dose does, instead of quietly describing a schedule you left behind two months ago.

Round down when you plan. A count that assumes the last partial dose is usable is a count that will let you down on the day it matters most.
